John Mably received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 1994. For his postdoctoral training, he joined the laboratory of Mark Fishman at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Cardiovascular Research Center (CVRC) in 1996 where zebrafish was employed as an animal model to study the genetics of cardiac development. He was a Principal Investigator in the CVRC at MGH from 2003 until January 2007, then joined the Cardiovascular Research department at Boston Childrens Hospital and Harvard Medical School as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Mably came to Hampton University in 2013 and is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences. Dr. Mably continues to employ zebrafish as an animal model to study cardiovascular development and cardiac disease.
